Summer Art Classes
June 21 - 25
Hip on Words and Images - From calligraphy to graffiti art investigate the idea of “picturing language” through the use of words and letters in art. Couple realistic drawn images with artfully created words to produce contemporary masterpieces that reference your world – from fantasy to street art this class takes it all in. Experiment with a variety of mediums including spray paint, inks and collage. Express yourself in this very hip genre of art making. This is a great class for a child that likes to draw or has interest in design and graphics.
July 12 - 16
The Altered Book - tell your own story through the metamorphosis of an old discarded hard covered book using Sculpy, scrap booking papers, photos, personal mementos and found objects. This is a great class for a child that likes to construct, draw and paint.
July 19 - 23
Impressions of a Beautiful Day - Each day paint your first impression of the land, the flora, fauna and the creatures along the Gunpowder Falls River in the luminous style of the impressionist Claude Monet . Review the work of impressionist artist Claude Monet. Explore through practice his theories of light and color. Paint in watercolor and oil paint while Plein Air painting. This is a great class for a child that likes to paint .
July 26 - 30
Extreme Portraits - learn tricks of the trade in drawing faces. From there create your own fantasy portraits, extreme expressions and silly features working in charcoal, pencil and acrylic paint. This is a great class for a child that likes to draw and paint.
